ARE MASKS REQUIRED?:  Yes, masks are required by everyone entering the building.  Parents are to take their student’s temperature before leaving for school and enter the information on the school’s page.  Students 3 year to 5th grade are not required to wear their masks in class, but it is recommended.  However, they must wear a mask when in the hall or other general area.  Middle School students, 6th-8th grades, wear a mask at all times.  Staff wear masks at all times as well.  Parents are only allowed to volunteer for recess, outside, and must wear a mask and check in their temperature.

REMOTE LEARNING:  On days that are 1/2 days or Professional Development Days, we will be remote learning from home.  The students have Google Classroom and Freckle and communicate with their teacher on line.

MASS DAYS:  Until we are in Phase 5, the student Mass schedule is different.  Beginning on Wednesday, September 14th, the Middle School will attend Mass and it will be a closed Mass, only for students.  Then on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2nd-5th grades will attend a student only Mass.  Then the Middle School will attend the following week as so on.  Students need to wear their Mass uniform on the days that they have Mass.

WHAT IS THE PROTOCOL FOR ILLNESS?  Will we are in Phase 3 of COVID virus, if your child has a fever, or runny nose, cough, trouble breathing, you might want to keep them home to see what symptoms might increase.  If any one in your household has been in contact with someone with COVID, then you will need to let us know and quarantine at home until you have been cleared to return to school.  Please be sure to notify the school if there is any chance of COVID exposure – we want to be able to keep the school open – and everyone healthy.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK AND WON’T BE IN SCHOOL? Please call the school before 8:00 am and let the school know that your student will not be in school and why.  Please include the illness symptoms.

MONTHLY NOTES HOME:  Each month a packet is sent home with the youngest student in your family.  In that packet will be the most updated calendar and information about the coming month.  The school web site calendar is also kept updated.  If a last minute change is made, a notice will be emailed home.

EMAIL NOTICES:  If you would like to receive school update emails, and haven’t, please email Mrs. Houle at and let her know you would like to be put on the email parent group.

WHAT IS A MISSION JEAN DAY?  Mission Jean Day is usually the last Friday of the month and your student may wear jeans, tennis shoes and usually the OLR gym shirt or Spiritwear on that day.  The students are to each bring in a $1 for a specific mission to wear jeans.  There may be special occasions that the students may wear jeans, i.e. Pep Rally, College, Tiger, Red Wings – all announced by Mr. Rapal.  You will be notified of these special occasions by email and school announcements
