Welcome to Mrs. Brossia’s Kindergarten Classroom

Hi there! I am Mrs. Brossia and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! Here is a little about me! This is my eighth year teaching Kindergarten here at OLR. I absolutely LOVE teaching Kindergarten. I grew up in the neighborhood our school is in, but attended college in Philadelphia, PA where I went to school to become a teacher. I also earned an athletic scholarship to play volleyball there. My family is very important to me. I have a husband, Mom, Dad, brother, sister in law, one nephew, and one niece. I enjoy reading books, playing volleyball, watching movies, jet skiing, going for boat rides, snowboarding, and spending time with friends and family.

My Teaching Philosophy

  • I believe that each student is unique and learns in a different way
  • I believe in play and learning disguised as play
  • I believe that a child’s family is their first teacher
  • I think it is my job as a teacher to work with families to help each student reach their full potential
  • I think that learning is a lifelong process and I consider myself a student in my own classroom
  • I set high expectations for my students and lovingly guide them to meet my goals

Our school theme this year is:

“Be Kind to Others”
Our Lady of Refuge School Mission Statement:

love for Jesus Christ through our spiritual and academic life, as we ask our Blessed Mother
