Newsletter – September 17

Hello OLR families,

What a busy second week of school!  It was such a pleasure to meet so many wonderful parents and (try at least) to associate names and faces to the students that I’ve already met.  From parent orientation and Wednesday mass to ice cream social and the parish picnic, I was excited to exponentially expand my limited knowledge of our families!  I was also glad to meet the board members of our Dad’s Club, which was instrumental in helping make sure both the ice cream social and parish picnic could be successful endeavors.  If you haven’t heard about the Dad’s Club and are interested in more information, please contact the office and we can get you in touch with the right people!

Just a couple of reminders…please make sure you are leaving enough time in the morning to get your child to school BEFORE the 8 AM tardy bell.  There are a few students who are coming in after 8 and that makes for a scattered start to their school day. Also, please adhere to the handicapped signs for those families that are in need of those parking spaces due to their circumstances.  If you do not have a clearly identifiable reason to use those spots, you may be asked to move.

Lastly, it was great to see so many of our 7th and 8th graders interested in our National Junior Honors Society!  I was able to sit in for their first meeting and heard about all the great organizations they are looking to coordinate our student body to help support.  Keep an eye out for those special events as they get communicated.

Have a great week and enjoy our extended summer weather!  And make sure to keep Wednesday evening open for our first Parent Club meeting at 7 PM in the Social Hall, it’s yet another great way to keep updated with everything going on in the school.
