Hello OLR families,
After the first week of school, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I am even more excited to be a part of the culture of learning which is so evident in each and every classroom! As I made my way around the building to see the staff and students interact, the one thing I was so pleased to see was the commitment to our theme of “being kind” for this year. From the respect students showed each and every adult with whom they interacted to the compassion they shared with one another, it is clear that the idea of “being kind” is nothing new and will only be strengthened as we continue to learn and grow both academically and spiritually throughout the school year!
I was also so happy to not only meet so many parents, but to see you at mass on Wednesday morning and to share a friendly wave during dismissal…that definitely makes my day. I look forward to seeing you again, or in some cases, meet you for the first time Wednesday night at Parent Orientation. Please forgive me if I ask your name for the second, third or umpteenth time, but I promise to keep trying to learn the names of as many people as I can in as short a time as possible.
Lastly, thank you for helping get all our students here on time. As I’m sure you all know, the ability to start the day with the entire class together only enhances the school experience from both a learning standpoint, but more importantly from a community mindset as well. Please help us help your child be as successful as possible by having them dropped off in time to be in the classroom by the start of morning prayer. By working as a team, we can make sure this school year is the best one yet for your child.
Have a great week!
