Newsletter – October 8th

Hello OLR families,

Thanks for all the families that helped make sure all our students were well prepared to take the IOWA tests last week, as well as those who were able to make it to Wednesday’s mass and Friday’s Pep Rally.  Your partnership in education is what makes this school so great! It was a busy week and continues to be so this week as well. We’re excited to have our first K-5 assembly this afternoon and really excited for Friday morning’s Fun Run!  Also, on Wednesday evening, there will be a parent meeting for First Communion candidates from 6-7 PM in the Social Hall.

This year we will once again be collecting food to help feed those less fortunate, and fill the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets from our Christian Service pantry.  The items per grade level are as follows:

PreK 3 & 4 year old:  Boxed jello and boxed pudding

Kindergarten:  Crackers, cookies

1st Grade:  Boxed potatoes, boxed stuffing

2nd Grade:  Canned gravy, canned olives

3rd Grade:  Pancake mix and syrup

4th Grade:  Canned yams, pumpkin or canned cranberries

5th Grade:  Coffee

6th Grade – Boxed cake or brownie mix

7th Grade:  Mayonnaise, canned cream soup (chicken, mushroom, celery)

8th Grade:  Canned fruit (mandarin oranges, pineapple, peaches)

Please bring your generous donation to school no later than Friday, October 19th.

Lastly, you may have noticed that our school parking lot has been restriped to allow for ample parking as well as a designated area for emergency vehicles as noted by the diagonal lines.  During our school events (such as today’s assembly) the Social Hall door will be staffed to allow you access from 2:30-2:45, so feel free to use the spots in that area to help alleviate parking congestion in front of the school during dismissal.  Thanks once more for your continued help with our PM parking, it truly helps for things to run as smoothly and safely as possible!

Have a wonderful week!
