Our EPCOT Day was a huge success as the kids were able to tour different countries of the world to get a taste of their culture. They had their passports stamped as they exited each country and received a very worldly experience! It was a great day!
Congratulations to our 2nd graders who received their First Communion this past weekend! God Bless them!
Congratulations to all of the Optimist Speech finalists! You all did an outstanding job. And a special congratulations to Anthony Abro who came in first place! Great work!
Our Lady of Refuge was represented at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit for the rescheduled Catholic Schools Week Mass.
We had students from grades 3 through 8 attend and experience this beautiful event honoring the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit. We even had our very own 4th grader, Mariam Assad, read one of the Prayers of the Faithful.
This was a memorable experience and we are grateful to have been able to attend!

Our students truly did the work of God today by touching the lives of so many. We started our morning with making bookmarks to donate to Humble Design along with our books from our book drive back in March. We handmade dog treats and cat toys to donate to D.A.W.G. – Detroit Animal Welfare Group and their animals in need. In the afternoon we put together hero bags to donate to over five local police departments. Then we ended our day in the church learning how Our Lady of Refuge serves the community and prayed together as a whole school.
It was a truly beautiful experience to share with one another as we continue our journey through the Easter season. Please enjoy some highlights from our day. Praying for a safe and blessed spring break to all!
Fun for students in K through 2nd grade.
Congratulations to the following teams for winning the Division Championship. They brought home some great hardware for our trophy case! Great job Ravens!

NJHS students sold green bagels this morning to raise money for their student fund!
The 5th graders participated in their very own Olympic games and medal ceremony. Congratulations to all skiers and sledders that participated!
The seventh grade explored the anatomy of the eye during a sheep eyeball dissection. Students needed to identify and remove the major components of the eyeball to better understand how we see. It turned out to be a fun, gross, educational, and “eye-opening” experience!
