Welcome First Grade Families!
Welcome back for the 2015-2016 school year! My name is Jessica Tahmouch, and I will be your child’s first grade teacher this year. This will be my second year at Our Lady of Refuge School, and I am so excited to meet all of you. I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a Major in Social Studies. I feel so privileged to be able to do what I love every day and look forward to helping your child continue to grow throughout this school year.
I believe that for complete success inside the classroom there needs to be a strong parent-teacher relationship. Throughout the year, I will communicate with you through newsletters, telephone calls, email, progress reports, report cards, and conferences. If you ever have questions or concerns, I encourage you to contact me via phone call, email, or through the classroom website. I would also love to have parents actively involved in the classroom during birthdays, parties, field trips, etc. This is a great way to show your child how important his/her education is to you.
I am thrilled to be here at OLR and cannot wait to get to know each of my students and their families as the year progresses. Please let me know if you ever have any questions, concerns, or just want to know more about your child’s progress.
