Music filled the air at OLR during our annual Music Programs!
Kindergarten sang Jingle Bells, Must Be Santa and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. They did a fine job singing and doing the movements to the songs.
First, Second and Third grades performed a play called, “Just a Little Christmas”. First and Second grades were the choir of angels, as Third grade narrated and acted out the nativity scene. The songs they performed were; Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem, The First Noel, Hark, The Herald Angels Sing, Hush, There’s a Baby, Kingseekers, Angels we Have Heard on High, and lastly, an encore of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
The Fourth and Fifth grades along with the two Middle School elective music/drama classes performed their version of the Nativity scene, a play called, “Jesus, Light of the World” by Mark Patterson. The music/drama classes acted and narrated the scenes as well as forming a choir with the Fourth and Fifth grades. The students worked very hard on correct diction, tone quality of their voices and at times, sang in three part harmony. There were a number of soloists; Seventh graders: Gabe M., Christine K., Lauren H. and Julia L. Fourth graders: Yasmeen F., Luke G., Audette K., and Alma T.
Ms. Mazich (Music Director) and Mrs. Zazaian (Drama Director) are very proud of the work all of our students did to perform these excellent programs.
